Puerto López

Just thirty minutes south of Puerto Cayo, you will find the municipality of Puerto López.  Boats leave from here destined for the Isla de la Plata with tours to see humpback whales.  There are also many companies that offer tours in Machalilla National Park.

Manta

This city in northern Manabí is known for its fishing industry and its multicultural vibe.  It offers beautiful beaches, regional and international food, and a variety of hotels and hotels.

From here you can visit Machalilla National Park, only a short distance along the coast from Manta.  Or touch up on your history by visiting one of Manta´s many museums:  the Central Bank of Caraquez Bay, Manta Municipal Museum, and the Archaelogical Museum with collections of artifacts from the pre-Colombian culture of Valdivia, Chorrera, and Manteña Guangala.

Jipijapa

Just thirty minutes by bus, Jipijapa is the closest city to Puerto Cayo.  Buses run between the two towns very frequently and from Jipijapa you can go onward to Manta, Guayaquil, Portoviejo, Quito, and other Ecuadorian cities.  In the city of the city you will find a park, a tourist center, and various stores.  It is also known as "the Sultan of Coffee" because it is the principal producer of coffee in Ecuador.

Agua Blanca

Agua Blanca is located east of Puerto Cayo and forms part of Machalilla National Park, which costs two dollars per person to enter.  There is a beautiful church in the center of the city as well as a museum of pre-Colombian artifacts.  You can also go to a sulfuric lake where you can bathe in mud and waters that are healthy for the skin.  The area is also a good place to view various species of birds.

Los Frailes

Los Frailes is known as one of the most beautiful beaches in the world, thanks to its white sand and calm waters.  It is situated between Puerto Cayo and Puerto López and there are many paths that allow you to explore Machalilla National Park.

Montañita

Montañita is a favorite destination for surfers and young travelers.  It offers a great variety of local and international food as well as a vibrant nightlife and a beautiful beach.  Montañita is a multicultural town that has waves great for surfing and hosts an international surf competition every February during Carnival.

Salango

Salango is a small town situated just south of Puerto López that has a nice beach and a variety of restaurants.
